Q&A

The Portal Q&A page allows FieldView administrators to both add and answer questions. These questions could be either global to all FieldView vendors, or apply only to a specific vendor.  

To add questions:

  1. From the administrator Portal Q&A page, click the Add Question button at the bottom of the page.

  2. Type the question verbiage in the text box, or cut and paste from an existing document.

  3. Use the tools provided to format your message as needed.  Add graphics, hyperlinks, font coloration, highlighting, etc. as desired.

  4. Edit the Expiry Date field to identify the length of time you wish the announcement to appear on FieldView Q&A pages.

  5. Select or clear the Global check box to control whether the question posts on all FieldView Q&A pages or only the Q&A page displayed to the specific vendor.

  6. Click Save Changes to post the question with an Answer Pending value in the Answer column. Or, click the Cancel button to discard the question.

To answer /delete questions:

  1. From the administrator Portal Q&A page, use the built-in grid sorting tools to locate the question.

  • Click column headings to sort data by a particular value.

  • Select and drag a column header into the open space at the top of the grid to group questions under a particular heading.

  1. Click the question to change the view to the question text box at the bottom of the page.

  2. Once a question is in the system, the only editing that can occur - beyond deletion - is to populate the Answer text.  Edit the answer text, applying any additional formatting as needed.

  3. Change the Expiry Date, if applicable.

  4. Select or clear the Global check box to control whether the question/answer posts on all FieldView Q&A pages or only the Q&A page displayed to the specific vendor or superintendent.

  5. Identify the company to which the Q&A entry applies by typing the three-character company ID in the Company box.  If the query applies to multiple companies, list all, separating company IDs with a comma.

  6. Click Save Changes to update the posted question.

  7. To delete the question, click the Delete Question button.
