Documents

FieldView offers document management by user role, offering central access to current job documents and eliminating the need to copy and distribute documentation—a paperless system. Post any document format at any of four access levels:

  • Project-wide, company-wide, or global documents, such as walk-thru checklists

  • Individual job documents, such as homeowner contract information

  • Task-oriented vendor documents, such as scopes of work

  • Superintendent documents, such as plans and specifications or site maps

To add documents:

  1. Choose which type of document to add:

  • Job Documents- displays the document for all FieldView users allowed access to the specified job

  • Company - displays the document for all FieldView users allowed access to jobs associated with the specific company

  • Project - displays the document only to those FieldView users associated with jobs in the specified project

  • Vendor Documents - displays the document only to the selected vendor

  • Global Documents - displays the document for all FieldView users

  • Superintendent Documents - displays the document only to superintendents and associated supervisors

  1. Click one of the Add Documents buttons at the bottom of the main Documents page to access the Add Documents screen.

  2. If adding superintendent, or vendor documents, choose the applicable recipient from the list at the top of the page.

  3. If adding company, project, or job documents, choose the applicable association from the list provided.

  4. Click the Browse button next to the File field to open the Choose File dialog and browse your network to locate the document to display.  

  5. From the Choose file dialog, highlight the applicable document and click Open. The system returns you to the Add Documents page, populating the File field with the directory path and selected file ID.

  6. Choose a document category from the Type field.

  7. Edit the Expires date as needed to set the life of your document.

  8. Click the Save Changes button to log the document in the system. FieldView automatically transfers the document to a central, public location for viewing by all applicable users.
